Program Description

Grandparent caregivers who meet the eligibility criteria may receive financial assistance or supportive services including information about available services such as support groups and counseling; assistance in gaining access to services; and financial assistance that may be used to purchase clothing, respite, educational supplies, and other expenses that are authorized by program staff. The current funding allocation from the Department of Aging and Independent Living allows $500 per grandchild to purchase the forementioned items. Once applications have been accepted and processed, program staff will schedule a shopping day with each family to purchase approved supplies.
